Overview
The map is your primary tool for visualizing fleet locations, tracking movements, and managing geographic data. This guide covers all map features and navigation tools.
Map Interface
Map Controls
Zoom Controls
- + button: Zoom in
- − button: Zoom out
- Mouse wheel: Scroll to zoom
- Double-click: Zoom in on location
Pan Controls
- Click and drag: Move map view
- Arrow keys: Pan in any direction
- Home button: Return to default view
Map Layers
- Road: Standard road map
- Satellite: Aerial imagery
- Hybrid: Satellite with labels
- Terrain: Topographic view
Unit Markers
Marker Types
Standard Markers
- Each unit has a unique marker on the map
- Marker shows unit icon and direction
- Color indicates status:
- Green: Online and moving
- Blue: Online and stationary
- Red: Offline
- Yellow: Idle
Custom Icons
- Units can have custom icons
- Configure in unit settings
- Helps identify vehicle types quickly
Marker Information
Hover Over Marker
- Shows quick info tooltip:
- Unit name
- Current status
- Speed (if moving)
- Last update time

- Opens detailed unit information panel
- Shows full status and sensor data
- Access to unit actions

- Click "Draw" tool
- Choose shape:

- Save as geofence
Add Map Notes
- Click "Add Note" tool
- Click location on map
- Enter note text
- Save note
- Notes appear as markers with info icon
Route Display
Viewing Routes
Current Route
- Shows breadcrumb trail of recent movement
- Configurable trail length (1-24 hours)
- Color-coded by speed
Historical Route
- Select unit
- Choose date and time range
- Click "Show Route"
- Route appears on map with start/end markers
Route Playback
Playing Back Routes
- Load historical route
- Click "Play" button
- Watch vehicle movement replay
- Control playback speed:
- 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x
Playback Controls

- ⏩ Fast forward
- ⏪ Rewind
- ⏹️ Stop and reset

Traffic Information
Traffic Layer
Enable Traffic
- Click "Layers" button
- Enable "Traffic" layer
- Roads show traffic conditions:
- Green: Free flowing
- Yellow: Moderate traffic
- Red: Heavy traffic
- Dark red: Congestion
Live Traffic
- Updates every 5 minutes
- Shows current conditions
- Useful for route planning
Points of Interest (POI)
Built-in POI
Show POI Categories
- Click "POI" button
- Select categories to display:
- Fuel stations
- Parking areas
- Rest stops
- Service centers
- Hospitals
- Police stations
POI Information
- Click POI marker for details
- View address and contact info
- Get directions
Custom POI
Add Custom POI
- Right-click location on map
- Select "Add POI"
- Enter details:
- Name
- Category
- Description
- Contact information
- Save POI
Manage POI
- Edit: Right-click POI → Edit
- Delete: Right-click POI → Delete
- Import: Upload POI file (CSV, KML)
- Export: Download POI data

Viewing Geofences
Show All Geofences
- Click "Geofences" layer button
- All geofences appear on map
- Different colors for different types
Filter Geofences
- Click geofence filter
- Select specific geofences to show
- Hide others to reduce clutter

Multi-Unit Tracking
Tracking Multiple Units
Select Multiple Units
- Hold Ctrl/Cmd
- Click multiple units in list
- All selected units highlighted on map
Fit to View
- Click "Fit All" button
- Map zooms to show all selected units
- Useful for fleet overview
Group Tracking
- Select a unit group
- Click "Track Group"
- Map shows all units in group
- Updates in real-time

Default Map Center
